You may already be aware of the specification for the Cleaning of Carpet in Queensland Schools (DET PSA – 100515). In the past, carpet sanitation in schools was generally only performed to improve the appearance of the carpet. The new specification now places greater emphasis on hygiene and stipulates that all carpet cleaning work is performed to the Australian Standards (AS 3733.1995). Meeting these high standards is more arduous and can be more costly than the general carpet sanitation that you may be used to. When this specification was adopted, PHJ Services was nominated as the only preferred supplier for Carpet Cleaning on the Gold Coast.
While these specifications have tremendous merit, we understand that the Department did not increase school budgets to cover the increased costs. Accordingly, we can offer you an option to provide a basic carpet cleaning service or another to completely comply with the Specifications.

It’s best to allow a few hours for your carpets to dry thoroughly before you walk on them. It is difficult to give an exact time frame, as drying time will vary considerably according to conditions. Our technicians will not move furniture or fragile items unless requested on site and that you or another person is available to provide assistance.
To ensure a great finish to your carpets, vacuum the area first and remove dry soils. Depending on your needs, PHJ can vacuum your carpets for you at an additional charge, please just let us know beforehand.
